We’re starting our Beta Testing at the end of February, so are calling upon those that wish to sign up to get a sneak peak of what’s on offer and to test our new system. Of course there’ll be some T&C’s you’ll need to agree to, but we’ll make it as simple & as painless as possible!

So if you’re interested then drop us a line with a subject title along the lines of “I want to be a guinea pig” to betatesters@idgator.com

It’s not as if we don’t have enough to be getting on with, anyway, we’ve decided to create a forum open to anyone (ID Gator™ members can simply click one button!), to discuss all aspects of identity issues, be it online identity, identity fraud, ID cards, concerns over CCTV prevalence, DNA databases, in fact whatever you want as long as it’s to do with Identity issues.

The ID Gator™ concept has been an idea jostling for attention in the heads of our founders for almost a year, while early concepts are still being thrashed out & developed, we’ve made the first official step and incorporated the business with Companies House.

What is ID Gator?

ID Gator™ is a simple concept that approaches your online identity in a different way to most networks. We’re not interested in locking you into our network, we simply want you to make the most out of the ones you already have & make it easier for you to spread your influence or networks further, as we say, ID Gator™ makes your social networks, social. A big problem today is the walled garden approach taken by many social networks, all vying for your attention & holding onto you as tightly as they can.

Our goal is to create an open standard that any network can utilise, making it easier for you to link, register or move between them. A big goal, yep, but we never said is was going to be easy, if it was, then everybody would be doing it. There are some standards out there that are shaping up nicely, but as they say “The great thing about standards, is that there’s so many to choose from” ; )

So what is ID Gator™ exactly?
In simple terms, ID Gator™ is a way for you to create a place you can store & share all of your online networks, but more importantly, a place for you to connect with friends & colleagues, with the added benefits of synchronising all of this with your address books, calendars, desktops, mobiles etc You’ll never have to worry about losing a friends address, or receiving their latest mobile number or email, because as soon as they update their details, you’ll get the updates, straight to your address book!

So when can I have it?
Unfortunately, these things take time, we’re currently in Alpha, with a fully functioning Beta release due for Q4 2010 – Q1 2011. Why the wait? Years ago a client said to our founders “What I love about you guys, is that our brand is as important to you, as it is to us.” That was an amazing endorsement to have, especially as it was from the company’s Brand Director! This respect & understanding for a clients brand is carried over to our inherent belief that safe guarding your personal identity & details is paramount to us & ID Gator™. We have to ensure, that the details you entrust with us, are as safe & as protected as best we can, so we have to make sure we get it right! As we say, Your ID Matters™

But the wait will be worthwhile, you have our word on that!
